Josh Freund is an award-winning documentary filmmaker.

Along with his filmmaking partner, Sam Radutzky, Josh is currently three years into a feature documentary film about the 115-year-old Jewish candy company, Joyva. The film will explore issues around food, family, cultural preservation, immigration, gentrification, and American capitalism.

The film is a grant recipient of Jewish Story Partners. We are also residents in the 2022 JFI Filmmaker Residency, and the film is partnered with The American Jewish Historical Society, OneTable, and Yivo.

His first feature, Do U Want It?, which he directed, shot and edited, screened at fifteen film festivals nationwide and won five awards including:

- 2017 New Orleans Film Festival Audience Award Winner

- 2018 San Francisco IndieFest Audience Award Winner

- 2018 San Francisco Frozen Film Festival Best Music Documentary

The film is currently streaming on Apple TV, Amazon Video, Google Play, and available on DVD!
